4th of July

Our 4th of July celebration was pretty low key as Kyle and Nora just returned from KS and we were in heavy packing and cleaning mode for vacation.

In the morning we went to a local parade. It was a little rainy but that didn't stop our fun! Sawyer got really into waving his flag so people would throw candy to him. He was very disappointed when some vehicles didn't throw candy directly at him. Nora was pretty nervous when there were loud vehicles in the parade (sirens, loud cars, etc) so she spent most of the time on my lap, but a few times the candy enticed her enough to get down and grab some.

a statute of liberty gave them both flags and they waved them proudly

Waiting for the candy, then picking it up

After the parade we went home for naps. That night we had an All-American BBQ and went for a walk. Then we fell asleep to the sound of firecrackers. Yes, we're pretty lame we didn't even stay up for the fireworks. But all-in-all it was a terrific family day!
