Game #7

This week Malone took on their cross-town rival Walsh. This is going to be a short recap…The game was rainy, cold and the Pioneers lost 35-13. That's it…here are a few pictures I captured.

Kolter did really well in the cold and wet conditions. He even took a little nap, but by the end of the game he was done…as you can tell by his facial expressions.

These two were busy bees all game and I was too bundled up to take many pictures.

Notice everyone in this picture is all bundled up except one person. Our friend Ella has a heavy coat on plus a large blanket. Nora is in a sweatshirt…she may be a little hot blooded like one of her grandmothers :)

And just so the grandparents don't get concerned with my lack of posting I wanted to let you know I will be doing a lot of contract jobs and a craft show in the coming weeks, so I need to put the blog on the back burner. There will be a 2-3 week break, but then I'll be back with lots of fun fall updates!

Lego Adventure {Great Lakes Science Center}

Recently I organized a play group outing to the Great Lakes Science Center in Cleveland, OH. There were 15 kids 5 and under in a science museum…it was a little bit of pandemonium but we had tons of fun.

I hadn't heard much about the science center, but we decided to go because of the LEGO exhibit. I was thoroughly surprised with all the interactive displays that were perfect for the kids. It isn't billed as a children's museum, but every exhibit had something for the adults and something for the kids.

I allotted 2 hours for the tour because I figured by then the kids would be exhausted, but we could have stayed all day!

Many of the kids stomping/dancing on cells

Sawyer sitting in a space shuttle

Kolter hung out in the stroller, but he too loved all the action

Climbing on the Mars landscape

My little astronaut

Another cute little astronaut

They also had a kids area that we barely got to explore due to time constraints, but this ball pit was a hit

At the bubble show very focused

The bubble show was great for this age group, can you see the bubble in the slinky?
And we finished with the main attraction: LEGO's!

Sawyer building his LEGO creation
After you finished your creation they had a green screen area to take a picture of your object and put a background on it. Below Sawyer made his creation into a plane and then a pirate ship.

We had soooo much fun! If you are in NEO and need a fun day trip with the kids I would highly recommend the Great Lakes Science Center!

Kolter Kutie

This kid has my heart! Those big blues eyes and that dimple!

His belly laughs when we tickle him. That big gummy grin that lights up his face.

The way he adores his older brother. The way he will sit for over an hour playing with his toys.

I can't really remember life without him and I don't want too.

If you can't tell I have an obsession with dressing him in blue, especially blue stripes.

Game #6

Before the game this week we went to our 1st Malone tailgating experience. A few of the freshman parents are hosting a tailgate before each game so we joined in on the fun. I enjoyed meeting some of the parents and the kids loved all the attention and sweets people would gladly hand them :)

This week the Malone Pioneers took on Northern Michigan. And I'm happy to report it was a VERY good game! The teams battled and the scales tipped toward both teams throughout the game. Half way through the 4th quarter Northern Michigan was starting to pull ahead with a 14 point lead. But you can't count the Pioneers out! They rallied and scored 14 points in 5 minutes to end the game with a tied score.

It was super exciting and somewhat nerve wracking to head into overtime. The Pioneers were on offense 1st and they scored a touchdown! But then the scary part…it was time for the defense to take the field against the NM offense. The defense held strong and the Pioneers won 42-35!

It was a very exciting 1st win of the season! We were thrilled and to top it off it was homecoming at Malone, so the kids also had a blast with festivities.

Sawyer taking a family selfie before we went to the game

There was face painting! Nora chose Olaf.

And Sawyer chose a monster…so he could scare people :)

There were also balloons! Sawyer chose a sword and Nora chose a fishing pole with a fish. Sad to report that neither balloon creation made it to the end of the game :)

It was a brisk fall day, but Kolter didn't mind. He loves all the activity of game days!

Nora adores her daddy and loves on him every chance she gets!
Our attempt at a victory family picture…Kolter was sleeping, Sawyer was melting down…oh boy not our best

Nora with the homecoming king! Nora is a child that will literally run away screaming from a mascot, but a strange boy with a crown she is all in. Funny child :) She patiently waited in line to get a chance with the king.

Just a couple of my monsters.

Dance Party

Sometimes they ask me to turn on the music.

I blast a little Pandora.

They proceed to twirl around.

Around and around with plenty of giggles mixed in.

Then it always ends with a fall (tackle?) to the ground

And more giggles. Of course one must wear appropriate attire to the dance…a tutu and wolf ears

When brother tires of dancing and commences bouncing off the walls, Jessie is a good substitute dance partner.
