Girly Goodies

I recently won a giveaway from Grace and Rosie! It was so fun to visit the Grace and Rosie Etsy shop with my girl and pick out some adorable hair accessories.

We chose 2 bows (navy crosses and gold dot) and 4 glitter clips. The bows are the perfect size and very well made! The glitter clips are adorable! Nora loves them because they are sparkly. I love them because they are versatile and practical while also being cute.

2nd Week in our Hometown {Family Vacation 2015}

After our time in Salina we returned to the farm for some work and fun.

The 1st day back Kyle and Uncle Cliff brought the playground from the daycare to the farm. And of course that meant they also had to cut down a tree ;)

Sawyer watching the tree cutting from a safe distance
the girls thought it was safer inside
the redneck way to cut down a tree…in the tractor bucket
everyone "helped" assemble the playground…not everyone was happy about it

after all that work it was time for some play…namely attack Papa
Kolter thought he was so funny stealing Papa's hat
everyone got a ride in the Rhino with Papa
They are riding Kansas style in the back of a truck on the way to a fishing hole.

We also spent time in town preparing for the big garage sale!

Mema corralling the babies
all ready to go (all of the stuff on the floor went outside the day of the sale)
Trying to keep them busy when they can't mess with anything in the house
a secret hiding place and Wild Kratts did the trick
Kolter has already figured out who to go to for food
such sweet laughter
Kolter has also become quite affectionate he loves to give hugs and big kisses
running around at the garage sale
all ready for the sale to begin
The kids made themselves at home during the garage sale...

he loved the tub of balls
Nora was quite the sales girl…she wanted everyone to buy cousin Breckyn's beautiful dresses
When the sale was over the leftovers went to the local resale store and the dump. By mid afternoon on Saturday the entire house was pretty much cleared out! Now it's ready to sell!
Once everything was gone we jumped in the car and began our long journey home. We had such a great 2 weeks in Kansas. We played, relaxed, worked, helped and enjoyed time with lots of family and friends. We can't wait until our next visit!

4th of July {Family Vacation 2015}

our little firecrackers on the 4th of July

Mom, it's too sunny

To celebrate the 4th of July we went to one of my Dad's friends house. They had tons of activities for the kids including a pool, trampoline, playground and of course fireworks!

Kolter wasn't so sure about the cold water

the big kids loved swimming
Kolter decided he wanted to enjoy from the sidelines…he had plenty of attention from all the doting adults

Sawyer loved wearing flippers
Sawyer and Nora staying a safe distance from those lighting the fireworks. The older girls would light the parachutes and the little kids would go running
Kolter was happy to find a ball (i.e. used smoke bomb)
Papa helping Nora light a firework
Papa helping Sawyer light a firework

Nora wasn't too fond of the loud fireworks
Kolter taking it all in
Papa keeping Kolter out of the fireworks
Mama and her boys
We had a wonderful 4th of July. It was the perfect weather…hot during the day and cool in the evening. The fireworks display was amazing for a private residence. We even had the excitement of a small fire. Kyle and Papa went running to help and Sawyer was so serious and adamant that he needed to help put out the fire. Perhaps he has watched too much Paw Patrol ;) Thankfully, it was put out quickly and the wonderful show continued.
