Kid's Nature Scavenger Hunt

We love spring time in Ohio. The other day we took advantage of a beautiful summer day by going on a nature hike/scavenger hunt with out play group. We met at the towpath then distributed the scavenger hunt list. I printed it off from a website. Check out my Pinterest boards for the link.

The kids had a blast looking for all the treasures...well at least for the first 10 minutes. Then they just ran full speed ahead as fast as they could. The mom's enjoyed leisurely strolling and chatting with the occasional shout ahead to slow down :)

We stopped for a picnic lunch at the halfway point.

When the walk was completed everyone was exhausted from all the fun, but there was one more thing we HAD to do...get ice cream. We conveniently finished our route at the ice creamery.  It was delicious!

our friend Leah seemed to enjoy it the most :)
One of the items on the scavenger hunt Sawyer was intent on finding was an acorn. He never found one despite a very motivated effort. So when we got home daddy came to the rescue and they scoured the neighborhood for an acorn and they found one! Sawyer carried it around for days :)
