Our Christmas {Jesus' Happy Party}

Before we left for our Christmas travels to Kansas we celebrated Christmas as a family with a Jesus Happy Party (as Sawyer has so appropriately titled it).

We started the evening by reading the story about the birth of Christ from the Jesus Storybook Bible. Then we opened our stockings and the one present I made for each of the kids.

Then we made a delicious chili dinner together. Next we all jumped into our pajamas and headed out to see the Christmas lights. Sawyer was enthralled this year! Then we rounded out the evening with cupcakes (for the birthday party) and hot chocolate.

Since we will not be spending Christmas morning in our own home for the foreseeable future I think this is a good start to a fun family tradition to help kick start the celebration of Christ's birth.

  1. Love the Jesus Happy party! We also read the story of Christ's birth from the Jesus Storybook Bible - that's my FAVORITE kids Bible. Yours, too?! We then sang Happy Birthday to Jesus before opening gifts.

    Your kids are too sweet and adorable. Would love to see you guys when we make it up that way in the coming months!
