3 Years

My baby boy is 3! This comes as no surprise since we already covered his birthday party. But I finally sat down and wrote down some of his recent milestones, plus he just had his well child visit. So here is Sawyer at 3.

Height: 36 inches (10%)
Weight: 26 lbs. 9 oz. (5%)

He is still a small little guy but he continues to grow and follow his own curve :)

I think we have been saying this since you were born, but you are constantly moving. In fact, if you haven't been moving for awhile you will get up and just run around in circles or wiggle your body to get out some that energy.

You LOVE games, especially electronic games. It doesn't matter if it's daddy's smart phone, the ipad or the computer you just want to play. Your favorites are ABC's (Starfall) and Seseame Street on the computer, Angry Birds on daddy's phone, and Monkey Lunchbox on the ipad.

You are still obsessed with Elmo, but you also love other Sesame Street characters like Cookie Monster, Big Bird, Snuffie, Oscar, and Super Grover.

You also enjoy playing hide-and-seek.

Another favorite activity is puzzles and memory.

You have known and recognized all the letters of the alphabet since before you were 2 but you still stop anytime there is an alphabet or a large sign to go through each letter. And if you start the ABC's there is no stopping you until you are finished.

You are starting to recognize some words. I wouldn't call it reading you just know a certain pattern of letters means something. The words you recognize are Sawyer, Nora, and stop. And you can spell most of your name with magnetic letters. And recently you have shown interest in starting to write. The other day you were coloring on the magna doodle and you made a "G" and recognized it. Hopefully we can start working on writing your name soon.

You adore stickers. It doesn't matter how many I give you 4 or 50 you must use them all at once.

You talk all the time and mostly in full sentences, answer questions, form questions and you have even started making jokes.

You can count from 1-11. You know the numbers up to 20, but after 11 they are a little jumbled.

You love to snuggle with mama. You are a little stingy with the kisses but you love giving hugs and holding hands.  You have recently started saying "I love you" unprovoked and it melts my heart every time.

You are very apologetic. In fact you will often say "Sorry, it's my fault." even in situations that it is not your fault or does not warrant an apology. I think being able to apologize is a great trait, but we will have to work on doing it at the appropriate time without squelching the remorseful feelings you have.

You continue to love to jump off things. You will jump off anything and everything.

You sleep with 2 stuffed footballs and an Elmo.

You nap every afternoon for about 2 hours.

You are very mischievous, constantly getting into things or hiding from us.

You sing Jesus Loves Me to Nora every time she starts crying.

You love to pray when others pray. Your typical prayer goes something like this: thank you for mama, dada, nora, nolan, papa, grandma, tache and more-papa, aunt, unc, and Jesus, thank you for the food, and thank you for taking the monsters away.  Recently you have started adding and changing your prayer but this is the basic format.

You have entered a scared a stage. When we put you down at night you often get out of bed because you are scared of monsters. We typically tell you to pray for Jesus protection.

You enjoy singing especially Sesame Street and Veggie Tales songs. Your current favorite song on the radio is Taylor Swift's Never, Ever, Ever Getting Back Together.
