The Move: Part 1

On Friday, March 12th I awoke at 4:30 am, fed Sawyer, took a test in our makeshift office space, finished packing, went to 2 doctor appointments, put stuff in storage, went to the pharmacy, said good-bye to a few friends and then we were off all before noon.

Our first destination was Salina where we said good-bye to one set of grandparents and great-grandparents.

Then we headed to Kansas City to visit family and rest for the night. Sawyer got to meet his Great Uncle Gerald and Great Aunt Jonell.

On Saturday, March 13th we left Kansas City, stopped in Greenville, IL for lunch and a quick visit with old friends, and then continued on to Evansville, IN. There we stayed the night at my brother's home. Sawyer had the joy of meeting his Uncle Kale and Kale's girlfriend Sharon and her boys, Colten and Tyler.

This is how Sawyer spent most of the trip...asleep in the backseat.

The next morning we were up and at'em early for the last leg of our trek. We stopped for a break in Indianapolis, IN to visit with my college roommate, Drew. From there we headed for Canton and arrived on Sunday evening. After 1,100 miles we were exhausted, but thankful for a safe and uneventful journey. I am also so thankful for my mother and mother-in-law who came with us. They were such a huge help. They made the trip go so much smoother as they helped drive and take care of the little guy. Sawyer did amazingly well. He slept the majority of the time and only cried once.

We'll tell you all about part 2 of the move when it actually happens (soon hopefully :) We pray the second part of the move goes just as smoothly.
