Thanksgiving {Part 1}

We had a whirlwind of a Thanksgiving that included 34 hours of driving, 2 Christmas celebrations, a birthday party, baby shower and of course Thanksgiving dinner! Between all those events we found lots of time to visit with family and let our kids run wild on the farm.

We left Friday after Kyle got off work and drove half way (St. Louis). The kids did great! They are at the age now where they are pretty easily entertained. Besides a few extra potty breaks for Miss Nora the 1st leg went smoothly and we drove late into the night so the kids slept for a good portion.

We got up bright and early the next morning for the the final leg. Kyle's former team and some of his favorite people in the world had made it to the playoffs and were playing near our route home so we made a little detour to drop him off and watch the game/chat with his friends. The kids and I trekked on for the final 2 hours. We finally made it to Grandpa and Grandma's house and it was a very welcome sight!

After unpacking the van we quickly commenced relaxation mode and the kids LOVED playing with their grandparents.

The next morning we celebrated Christmas.

 Nora is already an expert present opener and she loved her getting her very own fishing pole.

 Sawyer loved all his gifts, but he was obsessed with the jumbo candy canes.

Loving on her new baby doll, this was a hug, not to be mistaken for a choke hold

Taking a ride in the tractor with Grandpa
 We also made a quick stop at Papa and Tache's house where we also got to see Nana and Papa. It was a whirlwind of grandparents all week and the kids could not have been more happy about that!

Decorating Papa and Tache's tree, he was very focused

The next morning and Papa and Nora made pancakes.

Then to run out some energy they played in the big rock pile

and of course no visit with Sawyer is complete without some wrestling action
