We are still a tree-less family so this is my feeble attempt at creating some Christmas spirit. Our decorations are pretty much confined to the mantle and bay window. I do have a wreath on the front door and our mini Christmas tree is the dining room table centerpiece. It's simple, but it does add some holiday cheer especially when the lights come on.
Are you tree-less because of the age of your children or because you just do not have one up yet? We went years with just a tiny tree that I could put up high on something out of the way. The past two years are the first years we've enjoyed a full size tree-- both due to finally having the space, and nobody eating the ornaments. Next year, not sure what we'll do again about that 2nd part ;)
ReplyDeleteNone of the above :) We are tree-less because of my dear husband...he thinks they take away from the true meaning of the season. I assure him we can incorporate the Christmas tree into teaching the children about Christ's birth (i.e. gifts for others under the tree, Christian ornaments that tell a story, etc) but he will not consent. I'm hoping once the kids get older he will allow us the joy of a tree :)
ReplyDeleteNo tree, Kyle?!?! Well, your other decorations are beautiful, kristen!
