Football Fun {October 2017}

A recap of the fall football fun in October.

During most football games the big kids play in the bounce house or run around with friends while I try to corral this little one. She loves a snack ;)

On October 7th SNU took on Southern Arkansas at home. Southern Arkansas took the early lead and never looked back though SNU did stay within striking distance. They just couldn't pull ahead. The final score was 15-27 with SNU losing.

We had a rare Thursday night game where SNU took on Ouachita Baptist at home. The Crimson Storm took the early lead and went into the locker room at half time with the lead. However, the Storm did not fare well in the 2nd half and they lost the game 14-21.

Most games Sawyer stays busy at the bounce house, but this particular game he was enthralled with the video guy. Thankfully, the video guy was very patient and even allowed Sawyer to "help."

On October 21st SNU travelled to Arkansas to take on the University of Arkansas-Monticello. It was a night game that turned into a late night game when there was a 2 hour rain delay in the 2nd quarter. Prior to the rain delay it was a back and forth contest as the teams traded scoring drives. However, after the lengthy rain delay and offensive line injuries sustained at the beginning of the game the Crimson Storm began to falter. They lost 23-35.

Perks of being a coaches kid...wearing the headset after the game.

The final game of October pitted SNU against Northwest Oklahoma St. at home. SNU took the early lead and held on throughout the game. There were a few scary moments at the end of the game (i.e. an interception and a special teams fumble) and they tied the game. Then on the ensuing kick-off the Crimson Storm ran the ball all the way down the field for a 93 yard touchdown! After a defensive stop and a few offensive first downs they ran the clock out for a 44-37 victory! Papa and Mema were also in town for the game. It was the first home win of the season and the first SNU game Randy had attended!
