Our second week in Kansas was spent in Smith Center, our home town. It was a BUSY week. My MIL runs a daycare so in an attempt to wean Nora the kids went to the daycare Monday - Wednesday. I think both of them benefited greatly as Nora has started to wean and Sawyer came home talking more and playing better with other kids. Kyle worked on the farm with his dad most of the week. I spent my time getting ready for the big weekend events including a garage sale, baby shower, and wedding reception.
A year and half ago Kyle's beloved grandma passed away. And while we were there the family cleared out her home and had a massive garage sale. One day me and my new SIL, Jess, helped to clear the house along with other family members. It was a big job but a know the family felt such relief to get the job done. I've concluded that Kyle's grandma was superwoman she loved to cook, garden, can food, was great with children, painted, quilted, crocheted, embroidered, sewed, etc. I don't know how she got it all done! Anyway, after clearing the house the family had a very successful garage sale on Friday and Saturday.
On Thursday evening we held a baby shower for my SIL, Audra. She is due September 2nd with their first child! More pictures to follow in another post.
And Saturday was the main event, a wedding reception for Cliff and Jess followed by a family meal. It was a wonderful event that deserves a post of its own.
