Tube Time

On our final day in the mountains we visited the Frisco Adventure Park for a little tubing fun! And even the little ones got in on the action!

This was actually Evy's first snow experience. She was too cute all bundled up. She was a little confused and was pretty indifferent to the snow ;)

The kids had a blast! They probably could have stayed out there all day long!

While the parents and kids tubed the great-grandparents sat in the lodge and enjoyed this ;)

Here are a few videos that capture the pure joy of sunshine + snow + tubes + children ;)

Ski Bunnies

While in CO we spent a few days in the mountains near Breckenridge. One of the days we went skiing at Loveland Ski Resort.

All ready for ski school! This was Nora's 1st time on skis and Sawyer's 2nd time (he took lessons when he was 3).
Sawyer had a few hiccups after lunch (i.e. he got warm and didn't want to go back out in the cold but after a little coaxing he went back out and outlasted all the other kids on the mountain that day). Nora loved it...she also really enjoyed eating the snow ;)

While the kids were in ski school the adults got to enjoy the slopes too! We had a fun day of leisurely skiing. We braved a few blues, but we kept it pretty tame ;)

After ski school we each took the kids up the lift and down the "big" hill. They both did great! Sawyer even went down several times!

All in all it was a fun day of winter fun for both the adults and kids!

Here are a couple of videos...
1) Nora skiing down the bunny hill (you can see Sawyer in the background too)
2) Sawyer getting on the lift for the first time ;) he may have lost a ski
3) Sawyer coming down the big hill

CO & KS Christmas 2017

This Christmas we went all over and saw all the grandparents! Despite a few sick days we packed in a lot of fun! First up we traveled to CO Springs to visit Papa, Nana, More Papa, Tache and G-pa.

Excited for the Christmas festivities!

The kids had been begging to make a gingerbread house so we took the supplies over to Nana's nursing home and she helped us build it!

There was also lots of Pokemon playing throughout the break.

And we got lots of playing with our CO cousins/nephews!

 And of course snuggle time!

All the cousins in their matching Christmas pj's...aren't they precious!

Evelyn wasn't feeling well, so she enjoyed the extra grandparent snuggles!

Daddy snuggles always turn into tickle time.

After our time in CO we headed to KS to visit Papa and Grandma for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Unfortunately, I was sick both days so I didn't document much, but the kids had a blast with their gifts!

And of course we had to get a shot with Papa and Grandma.

What a joyful Christmas we had! There will be a few more posts about our CO adventures. Also, after Christmas Sawyer got to spend some alone time at Papa and Mema's farm! And once we got back home we started a small house project that I'm loving!

Holiday Happenings

Our little holiday traditions continued this year...

Decorating the Christmas tree in our pajama's
This year the kids did a great job decorating the whole tree by themselves!

My girls in matching outfits!

We attended the SNU Christmas party and visited Santa

our annual Jammie Cocoa Christmas Lights Night. We visited Yukon Park Lights and loved it!

I created a little favorites package for my friends in OH...a Chip & Jojo hand towel and soap from Preemptive Love Coalition to support refugee women in Iraq.

As homeroom mom I planned a few class Christmas parties for Nora and Sawyer.

We also had our traditional Jesus Birthday Party where we read the Christmas story, exchanged gifts and made cookies. We even handed out some cookies to the guys replacing our roof ;)

We were all under the weather, but we still enjoyed the party! We just took it extra slow ;)

The kids each received a new ornament. Sawyer got a pokeball to represent his love for Pokemon. Nora received a tiara because she loves anything girly and sparkly ;) Kolter got a green dinosaur because he loves the color and green and dinosaurs. I made Evy a bunny because she loves the bunny she sleeps with every night.

And here's a look at our Christmas decor. I changed it up a bit from last year. This is probably the one and only time it will look like this because after Christmas our fireplace is getting a makeover!!!

I also added a little holiday cheer to the floating shelves in the kitchen and I love it!
