Retirement Rewind

In May I traveled with 2 kiddos to CO for Papa's retirement celebration! We had a fun time celebrating Papa's accomplishments and visiting lots of family!

Evy with Nana and Tache

Cousin Maren did a great job taking care of Evy at all the events!

Aunt Christina and her 3 boys made a big surprise when they traveled from OH to CO for the weekend. Kolter loved having his cousins to play with.

Between all the parties we made some time for park play. Evy was not so sure about the hat.

We went to the bank open house, had a night of just adults at the Broadmoor, a family barbecue and a little Mother's Day celebration. Kolter loved playing with the balloons we got Nana. It was a quick trip, but it was packed full of fun and family!

Easter Weekend

We spent Easter weekend at home with Papa & Mama! On Friday we went to the Good Friday service.

There was no childcare, so Evy was showing off her new sitting skills in the nursing room

We introduced Papa & Mema to Fuze...an all you can eat restaurant. Obviously, Kolter is a fan! Then we had an Easter egg treasure hunt on the SNU campus (see previous post for those fun pictures).

On Easter morning we attempted a family picture ;) Then the kids dug into their Easter baskets.

After our little photo shoot we went to church to celebrate our risen Savior! Then we came home and prepared a wonderful lunch for our family and the Hodam's. We wrapped up the afternoon playing with our friends and doing a little egg hunt in the backyard. What a beautiful day to celebrate!

Easter Treasure Hunt

This year instead of a traditional Easter egg hunt Sawyer requested a treasure hunt complete with a map. I thought that sounded like a fun idea so I researched how to make a treasure map (surely there's an app for that ;) and when the results included dyeing the paper with coffee I checked out. I did a little brainstorming and decided the best/easiest route would be to have the hunt on SNU's campus. Students on break, lots of places to hide eggs and a map I could print made it the perfect location!

I marked the locations on the map for each kid. Daddy and Papa went ahead of us and hid the eggs. The kids were pumped to have a map!

They each had an egg color and 12 eggs hidden around campus. It took about an hour to hunt them all down. The kids had a blast and it was way more fun than stampeding through a field with a million other kids to grab a few eggs. I think this will be our new tradition!

It was a beautiful evening for an egg treasure hunt!
