Mother's Day

I realize this was a while ago, but I just wanted to commemorate my day of spoiling. Saturday, before Mother's Day, Kyle gave me a day off and I used the time for some much needed retail therapy. Actually, I went to garage sales and furniture stores in search of things for the new house. With 3 kids in tow the only stores I usually visit are grocery stores and Target, so it was really nice to leisurely walk through stores and look at items without a thought about some child running away or breaking something.

My mother's day picture never turns out as well as I envision. This year it also features a mini van and a toy truck...both very fitting for this stage of my life. While it may not be the perfect picture I do love that it represents all 4 of my little blessings.

First we went to church then out to lunch.

The kids even agreed to Mommy and me selfies.

The day after Mother's Day Sawyer's class invited all the Mom's to a special tea party. They showered us with gifts, treats and a fun performance.

What a special time with my big guy! He was so excited to sing for me and show me around his class!

It's always so interesting to see how my kids answer these questionaires...my height and weight are both very generous. He likes my eggs because that is his favorite food. I LOL'd at the next one because he obviously doesn't look at me much...hello I'm pregnant ;)

Lost Tooth

This oldest child of mine recently had his 1st loose tooth! One night at dinner we were eating on the patio and I looked at him and noticed something strange about his teeth, so I got up and went over to him and inserted my finger into his mouth and sure enough I discovered his loose tooth. He was pretty excited!

Throughout this motherhood journey there are constantly signs of my children growing. Most of them pass me by without a second thought (moving up a size, learning to read, etc.). But some take me by surprise, make me stop in my tracks and cling to their littleness. So until that tooth fell out there were lots of extra snuggles and reminiscing about my 1st baby.

About a week later, on his last day of Pre-K, he decided it was loose enough to pull. Daddy, the brave one, put him over his legs and gave a little tug and the tooth came out. There was a bit of blood, but he was so excited about the event he didn't even mind.

Thankfully, before we left Ohio I made each kid a tooth bag to put under their pillow for the tooth fairy. It was one of my last projects I made before I closed up the sewing machine in December and it hasn't been back out yet (shocking I know...soon enough we should have my desk built so I can sew once again).

That night Sawyer put his tooth in the bag under his pillow and when he awoke in the morning he came running in disappointed the bag was still under his pillow and assuming the tooth fairy hadn't come. I reassured him that the tooth fairy just takes the tooth, but fills the bag with something else. So he ran back in to confirm that the tooth fairy had indeed stopped by and left a note and $1. Then all was right with the world once again ;)

Nora Soccer

Nora wrapped up her 1st soccer season at the end of May. She had a blast! Her favorites things were seeing her friends, the snack and scoring goals...probably in that order. We learned she is a bit more aggressive than we anticipated. I guess that comes with having an older brother ;)

She was also pretty excited to get her first participation trophy!

Last Day of School {Eleanora}

 Nora completed her 1st year of preschool recently. She adores school! In fact she gets sad on the days she doesn't have school. She excels at making friends and art. Her favorite thing to do is paint! Because of our move Nora had to change preschool's in the middle of the year. While she desperately misses her bestir from Ohio (Brynn) she has made lots of new friends in OK, most notably her best friend, Canaan.

She is so excited to start Pre-K next year!

And I know she would want me to mention this is her preschool shirt that they ask the children to wear on special days. She hates wearing it! She says it's not her style ;) She would all like you to know if she had an option this would not be her last day of school outfit. Yes, she is 4 going on 13.

Last Day of School 2016 {Sawyer}

Sawyer finished up his last day of Pre-K on May 20th with a park day! This year brought about lots of change and not just physical growth! He started the year in a kindergarten 1/2 day program in OH and completed the year in a Pre-K classroom (1/2 day) in OK. Oklahoma doesn't offer 1/2 day kindergarten, so when we moved we chose to put him in the Pre-K class to complete the year.

He learned a ton this year! Most notably his reading and writing skills are really blossoming! And he is very excited to start kindergarten next school year!
