16 weeks {#4}

My monthly appointment was short and sweet, primarily because I had 3 children with me ;) The baby's heart rate was 156 bpm.

How far along: 16 weeks
Total weight gain: 5 lbs.
Maternity clothes: not yet, but I'm very thankful for leggings and long shirts
Sleep: great except for frequent bathroom breaks, most nights I'm in bed by 8:30 pm
Best moment this week: hearing the babies heart beat
Movement: yes, a few times a day
Food cravings: Not really
What I'm missing: my energy level
What I'm looking forward to: moving into our new house and really getting settled

The House {Before}

This is mostly for our memories sake, but here is what the house looked like when we purchased it. This house was owned by an elderly woman. She moved out a few years ago and since then it has been a rental property. So, for the past few years it has not been well maintained. Don't let the pictures deceive you. It was dirty and needed lots of work. In fact, I looked at this house once and walked out saying it was too much work…but then Kyle talked me into going for a 2nd look and that's when we fell in love.

Also, just a reminder there are no basements in OK and very few 2 story homes, so we were searching for a house that would accommodate our family of 6 (as we grow). It was a tall order, but I think we found the one!

The landscaping needs some major help, but a fun surprise was the daffodils and tulips that came up this spring!

Formal living room: while this looks pretty good there was a flood from the hot water heater in the garage so the cheap laminate flooring was molding and gaping in spots.

Family room: we love the space in this room and the fact that it is open to the kitchen. Also, those built-ins will be fun to decorate! We also love the vaulted ceiling and sunlight.

We do not love the large light on the wall (big white box), large wall mirror or paint color

Dining room: We love the built-in but it has a terrible paint job and that celery green paint also has to go!

Kitchen: this is the room that needed the most work…from the pink tile to the cabinets that don't close to the original (a la 1970's) wall ovens (nasty)…it all had to go...

Sunroom: this room is off the living room and will make a great bonus room, but it needs some work like new windows and there are some mold issues. We'll address all that later.

 Master bedroom

Master bath: not my taste, but recently renovated so it will stay, this room also had some major mold issues…as we started demo we learned it was a broken pipe that had been leaking for a looooong time.

 Guest room

Nora's room: she loved the colors and the popcorn ceiling that was sparkly…both have to go. And just a little diy tip…do not paint small stripes on a textured wall!

 Boy's room

Kid's bath: also not my taste, but recently renovated so it will stay as is for now.

Back yard: it has a nice patio and is fully fenced, but the landscaping needs some help Though we do have a peach tree that is supposedly quite good!

Not pictured: laundry room/mud room and the 1/2 bath.

What have we been up too?

We've been busy adjusting to a new town, school, and home (more on that in the next post), but we have found some time for family fun!

When it's raining and cold we visit the pet store…out of all the animals in the pet store my children's favorite are the mice…eeeew!

Papa & Tache came for a quick visit. We decided to visit the OKC bombing memorial. It was a wonderful tribute!

We've also been making new friends. Here we are at a new restaurant with some fun friends!

And we bought a new house…as you can see from the picture it needs some work. That work is well under way! This is just a sneak peak…more to come!

Mama Bear

Nora's preschool recently had their spring program.

Making treats for her friends to have after the program

She couldn't wait to make-up before the show!

The kids and teachers put so much work into each song! I loved hearing her practice the songs, actions and her curtsy. The program was called Down Storybook Lane and they depicted several fairy tales (3 Little Pigs, 3 Blind Mice, 3 Little Bears, etc.). Nora was assigned the character of Mama Bear and she took it very seriously. She diligently practiced her curtsy and her entrance (skip, smile and wave).

I know this is super blurry, but it's the best I got of her entrance
She was very excited the day of the program! I thought she might get nervous but the nerves didn't kick in until she got on stage. She did a great skip, smile and wave, but once she was on stage and looking at all the people you could see the nerves creep up. She sang every song, but she would not do the action ;)

Easter {2016}

We were at Papa & Nana's for Easter. The kiddos awoke to their Easter baskets. One kiddo was not too excited...

But after a quick hug from his big sister (and maybe some chocolate) he felt better. Then we had a little egg hunt around the house (because it was super snowy outside).

After all the egg-xcitement we got ready for church.

The kids looked cute, but the photo session didn't go so well…oh boy…you can't win them all.

Daddy/daughter love
the bad photos continued with the combination of cold, bright sun and 3 kids
the kiddos did a bit better with Papa and Nana

After a great church service we went to Uncle Wes and Aunt Christina's house for a delicious family lunch. Then we went back home for naps and more packing.

Kolter's Bday

Since Kolter's birthday fell on Easter we decided to celebrate a day early. We were also in CO for the holiday, so we were able to have a little family party!

Since Kolter loves all things balls that was the theme of the party including balloon balls and a ball (egg) hunt.

My ball loving boy finds a lot of joy from balloons! And since we were traveling and didn't want to bring a lot of balls, balloons was a great choice.

Even Nana got into the balloon action

Kolter loves babies, so having cousin Samuel at his party was a special treat!

Eating pizza with cousin Nathaniel

We also had a ball hunt around the house. The kids enjoyed the candy treats!

Excited for his cupcakes

Loving his cupcakes

Going in for the kill, when did my baby get this big?

He received lots of fun gifts including lots of Batman and Paw Patrol items and a few hand drawn pictures from his siblings ;)

And my favorite birthday miracle…a family picture where everyone is smiling and kind of looking at the camera ;)

It was a busy weekend filled with lots of moving and Easter, but I'm so thankful we were able to celebrate our little guys life too!
