Pictures (L to R, top to bottom): 1st day of preschool fro-yo treat for Nora; Nora showing her true colors; this summer Kolter (and I) have managed to lose 2 Crocs. The 1st vanished into thin air in KS. We purchased another pair and somehow one disappeared into the black hole of the minivan. Thankfully he lost 1 from each foot, so he still has a full set! #thirdchild #howdoesthishappen #mismatchedshoes #itsalltherage; the scene of the crime…no one was spared…including her own hair. Rapunzel has the hair to handle it, but the other ladies will have to wait it out #theywillsurvive #schenksalon; a baby in boots; I turn my back for 1 minute #atleasttheywerewashed #wehaveaclimber; neighborhood entertainment in the form of a tree cutting

Pictures (L to R, top to bottom): Kolter was supposed to be taking a nap…this is how I found him; Sawyer exercising at football practice; Kolter and Mommy selfless at football practice; Kolter trying to keep up with the bigs; I captured this moment to remember one of the 1st times all three of them played at the park together (instead of ignoring Kolter ;); Nora practicing her hand writing in her robe (she's so fancy ;); my apple eater…he likes to climb on the counter and grab anything that is available then shove it in his mouth ;)

Pictures (L to R, top to bottom): Wild Kratt…I mean Schenk brothers…without pants ;); Kolter enjoyed the spoils of our Malone football watch party #heisalwaysonthecounter #helpyourself; Sawyer wearing ALL the costumes; girls night/baby sprinkle/birthday party all in one; Sawyer on a rare one-on-one date with mommy and daddy…of course he chose Chick-fil-a; Kolter loves his snuggly blanket; happy 18 months to Kolter #thirdchild #thatdimple; Nora loves to accessorize; Kyle was working on the computer and Kolter climbed onto the couch, positioned a pillow just like daddy and sat next to him (he is such an impersonator)…no one can deny they look alike!; best friend siblings at the park (they even asked me to take this picture ;); had to commemorate the 1st day of welly season this fall…love my red wellies; Nora posing for her high school volleyball picture ;)

FBG #5 & #6

Football game #5 was at home and it also happened to be homecoming weekend…which means there were extra fun things to do on campus.

We got all ready for the game then went to campus. And we also had a fun surprise…seeing daddy on a game day! Can you tell they were excited?

Then we spent several hours enjoying the inflatables, coloring, face painting, cookie decorating, bull riding and trampoline jumping.

my little lefty and her 1st bull riding experience

The lines were quite short so they both enjoyed jumping several times

Kolter even sat on the bull
Sawyer thought the bull was moving too slow so the attendant kicked it up a notch…Sawyer immediately flew off ;)
After all the activities wore them out it was time to head to the football game. All around it was a yucky game…it was raining (thankfully we were able to sit in the press box), Kolter had no nap, and the actual game did not go too well. Malone lost 41-17 against Ashland.

My 3 kiddos in the press box…can you tell which one is obsessed with football?

He was also a little obsessed with this ;)

Game 6 was another game far away. Kyle left on Thursday morning…which makes for an extra long weekend. The game wasn't much to talk about. The final score was Malone 9 Northern Michigan 37. The kids and I spent the weekend playing with lots of friends. We also did a little cleaning because we have someone special arriving soon!

Place Holder

As is the theme every October blog posts will become sparse. Please bear with me as I do my annual contract work, football season, busy school schedules, starting a new job (!!!) and the most time consuming of all…having an 18 month old ;)

I will check in here and there, but my usual 3x a week posting won't happen this month :(

I will be back though!

Have a great week!

Sawyer Sayings & Eleanora Explanations

Sawyer wearing ALL the dress up clothes

Sawyer:

After a week of safety school…Mom when you see a stranger you should kick him and run away yelling stranger danger!
We may have to work on that…this kid is so literal!

I broke my strength

Sawyer: I want to be like Moses.
Mom: Why do you want to be like Moses?
Sawyer: Because he listened to God!
Mom: Yes, he did! I think that would be a great thing to do!

Mom: jamming away to a country song while driving home
Sawyer: is this song about God?
Mom: Um…no.
Sawyer: I think we should only listen to songs about God!
Mom: (feeling convicted…pulls out a worship cd ;)

It's all my pleasure!
(he says this in response to lots of things ;)

Me: trying to wrangle all the kids into the van, no one is paying attention…Ok, guys you need to put on your listening ears.
Sawyer: I don't have any of those.

Setting the scene: Sawyer was doing worksheets that involved matching like items. It had a cow and a lion on 1 side and various animals to be matched.
Me: What animal is this and where does it live?
Sawyer: a cow lives on a farm
Me: What animal is this and where does it live?
Sawyer: That's a lion and it lives…on the African savannah
Me: Well, that is correct, but maybe too specific. I think they were going for in the wild ;)

Nora:

Nora getting out of her bed when she should be sleeping.
Mom, I want to snuggle.
Nora it's after bed time. You need to get back in bed
But Mom, look I'm wearing my sleeping shoes (sparkly pink church shoes…she wanted to wear her new shoes so bad, she thought it best to sleep in them)

Mom, my thumb is bleeding! I'm going to lose all my air! Jesus is going to have to rebuild me!...what logic ;)

While swimming…
Mom, who is going to marry me!

Mom: Nora we are going to a friend's house today!
Nora: Do they have dogs or cats?
Mom: No, they are allergic.
Nora: GREAT

After applying some chapstick/lip gloss and putting on a necklace and bracelets.
Nora: Am I all dolled up?

18 months

Stats:
Height: 31.25 inches
Weight: 21 lbs. 14 oz.
Head Circumference: 18 in.

Developed hives several times…most likely due to sunscreen

His blonde hair is filling in

Words galore: ball, baby, ba-ba (pacifier and Spiderman…his 2 favorites), apple, please, thank you, uh-oh, mama, daddy, papa, mine, doggy, woof, go, water, flower, poopy, spiderman, batman (yes, he is already obsessed with superheroes #3rdchild

Not only have his verbal skills improved he also loves to communicate nonverbally, specifically he loves to nod. He rarely says "yes" as he prefers to nod yes.

He loves to play ready, set, go…even in his carseat he will say the words and get his little feet a 'goin

Is a climber! His favorite places are on top of my desk and on top of the kitchen counter. If he is quiet you know he is on top of something. He has also started to climb out of his pack'n'play…which has made nap time a bit more difficult for Mommy.

His 1st word was daddy…but now he always calls daddy mama ;)

He loves to jump off anything

Wearing 18 month clothes and size 5 or 6 shoes

Wearing size 3 diaper

Sleeps from 1 - 4:30 or 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm - 6:30 am

His favorite foods are black beans, hamburgers, watermelon, frozen peas, potatoes…and his very favorite is bananas. He is actually a very good eater and will at least try everything

His eyes remain a dark blue and he continues to have 1 dimple on the right side…these 2 features get him a lot of perks

He loves to give hugs and kisses

He is a bit jealous of Mommy's time and attention…if Sawyer or Nora are sitting in my lap he insists on wiggling his way in

He adores his pacifier. Even though he is only allowed to have it in bed he knows all of our hiding places (remember he can climb anywhere) so he is always on the look-out. Little does he know they will be vanishing soon ;)

His 2 favorite toys are balls (any and all) and Spiderman. Luckily for him we have an abundance of both!

He adores daddy, but he always calls him "mama!" His first word was Dada, but he never says it anymore…it's always mama ;)

In true youngest child fashion he is a ham
