Kolter Kutie

This 3rd child has a bit of a personality. You could call him our ham. He insists on wearing a super hero cape at all times…even to bed. He loves to laugh and thinks everything is funny. He is always up for taking a picture and wants to see the result immediately. He tells us when something is funny and proceeds to giggle. He is also crazy and fearless. He will do anything for a laugh. He may be a future class clown. He runs around all day in superhero mode ready to strike at any time.

Here's a little look into his personality:

In the future when I envision Kolter at age 2 this will be the image I see…a dimple faced toddler with no pants adorned with a Superman cape running as a blur around the house!

He has to be in all the action even if he doesn't know how it works

Loving that blue snow cone

When it's 100 degrees outside this is his wardrobe choice

So happy to be a big boy!

He loves to cheer on his siblings at their sporting events. Go Rockies! Go Sawyer!

Caught with his hand in the…watermelon bowl :)

Yep, caught red handed ;)

the little landscaper…apparently he has a distaste for pants ;)

Licking ice cream off his feet…just a normal day in the life of Koko

Baby Talk {#4}

The arrival of baby #4 is quickly approaching and I don't feel like I've done a very good job of documenting this pregnancy over the past 9 months, so here's a quick rundown and a few observations.

The 1st trimester was difficult with a cross country move, transitioning to a new environment, living in a less then ideal house (but we are so thankful we were together), the normal 1st trimester nausea and exhaustion. Lets just say it was not my favorite 3 month span.

While this is our 4th child it is our 1st in-season baby. I'm a little apprehensive about this scenario, but I know it will work out fine.

Weight wise this has been an interesting pregnancy…I gained 10 pounds in the first 5 months, lost 10 pounds in the 6th month due to a round of Whole30, gained 10 pounds in the 7th month…we will see where I end up.

We haven't had a ton of name conversations. While in CA on our 10th anniversary trip we had one in-depth convo and we both decided on 2 first names we liked, though they certainly weren't set in stone. It may be our easiest name yet…we'll see because it's still not solidified.

The kids have also chimed in with some name choices. Nora requests Alice or Peaches if it is a girl. And Sawyer wants Jack if it's a boy.

This is the first baby we haven't found out the gender. I think it's a girl based on the low heart rate (both boys had similar heart rates and they were always in the 160-170's, while Nora had a lower heart rate usually in the 150's, this baby has hovered around the 150's even going into the 140's).

Nora hopes it is a girl.

Sawyer and Daddy are guessing boy.

Kolter adores babies and will certainly love on the new baby…dare I say he may be too loving.

Nora will be my helper with this baby…a mini mommy perhaps.

Sawyer will be loving, but for the most part probably won't pay much attention to the baby. I'm hoping he will be my helper with Kolter (i.e. play with Kolter when Mommy is feeding the baby).

Nora will share a room with the baby. If it's a girl they will remain together. If it's a boy we will eventually do a room swap and all 3 boys will move into Nora's room and she will move to the boys room and have a room of her own.

I've been fortunate to workout throughout this pregnancy. You may remember I suffered a stress fracture in my foot when I was pregnant with Kolter, so I didn't know if I would be able to work out. When I got pregnant I had been doing primarily HIIT and strength training workouts. I continued those through about 30 weeks. Then I got a severe sunburn on my shins and we were in the midst of several vacations, so the working out took a bit of a hit, but I'm still chugging along. Hoping it makes for an easy delivery/recovery.

Can I just express how thankful I am for air conditioning!

Because we don't know the gender I haven't purchased anything for the baby. It feels a little weird having no new clothes or a blanket…I will probably purchase a boy and a girl coming home outfit and maybe a gender neutral swaddle blanket…we'll see.

Ultrasound pictures were taken at 32 weeks. Baby was not very cooperative during the ultrasound. He/she was very active and we couldn't get a good face shot because he/she was turned toward my back. So the images posted are of the face (you can see the babies eye), foot and fingers.

Innocent?

Doesn't that look like a sweet, innocent face excited to see his brother playing t-ball?

Zoom out a bit and you realize that sweet, innocent boy is a bit mischievous as he is actually climbing a fence...

Zoom out for a full look and you may notice this is no innocent little man, but instead a fearless toddler who will attempt anything the older kids try! At this point I had to stop taking pictures and remove him from the fence because he would have climbed over the entire thing if left to his own devices ;)

While he may not be innocent he is still super cute ;)

1st Day of School

Sawyer and Nora had their first day of school last week.

I think everyone was ready for school to start! Even though Sawyer started kindergarten it wasn't super emotional for because he was going to the same school and technically he started kindergarten last year in Ohio, so we kind of already went through that experience. The day of everyone was just excited to get the school year started!

Kolter had to join in on the action

I love little teacher gifts, so each kid gave their teachers a mason jar glass filled with drink mixes and candy on the 1st day. How cute are those mason jars? I found them at Wal-Mart in a set of 4, which was perfect since we have 4 teachers!

My 2 oldest walking into school together. Sawyer is telling her all about Pre-K.

At their desks ready to begin the new year.

This kid was pretty excited for his only child status #3rdchild #donttellhimwearerunningerrands

Our annual tradition of getting a snack to celebrate a successful 1st day!

iPhone Unload {July 2016}

Pictures (top to bottom, L to R): once a week we let one of the big kids stay up later and snuggle with mommy…this was a Sawyer and Mommy selfie during our snuggle session, Daddy showing off the Lego box Sawyer made him for his birthday, Daddy's birthday, my annual attempt at baking Kyle's favorite cake (pound cake)…it may not be visually appealing, but it was pretty tasty iamnosaralee #itsthethoughtthatcounts #keepingitreal, Kolter getting the hang of the scooter #toobigtoofast, after a 7 month hiatus I started sewing again (more to come), Kolter as a Cinderella wolf #3rdchild

Pictures (top to bottom, L to R): breaking in the new couch, Kolter loves to carry around a sword…sometimes he receives self inflicted wounds, Nora watching Sawyer at football camp, Sawyer went to SNU kids football camp…it was super hot and he was the youngest kid…but I'm so proud that he kept at it, Superman Kolter, close brothers, I think Nora needs a sister ;)
